Apprenticeship Growth

We’ve started the New Year with a bang! Cordie is delighted to announce another new cohort of procurement apprentices, starting later this month. Earlier this week, we finalised a contract with the Government’s Crown Commercial Service for a new intake of learners. This grows on our existing strong relationship with the CCS and will run in parallel with our CIPS study centre offerings to central government.

The CCS apprentices will be starting with a round of inductions with their line managers later this month. These will be a combination of online and in-person meetings in Liverpool. Learners will then be thrown into the deep-end to start their formal procurement studies in February in readiness for their first exam in March 2024.

One of the interesting features of this cohort will be the implementation of the revised CIPS syllabus. Previously, we have reported on the direct involvement Cordie Director, Ian Thompson, had in reviewing and overhauling the 2019 syllabus version. This has resulted in CIPS publishing a series of amendments and modernisations of their syllabus, including the introduction of the principles of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG). These will ‘go live’ for the March 2024 exams.

Our next cohort of procurement apprentices can therefore look forward to a more current and slightly fresher version of the syllabus. All of our learning materials have been reviewed in depth and updated accordingly. This includes our comprehensive eLearning support, which we provide free-of-charge to all our learners.

This has been one of the features that attracted CCS to award their apprenticeship contract to us, along with the phenomenal exam results and outcomes that our apprenticeship programme delivers.

It’s too early to give details, but we have had many other expressions of interest in our Government-funded apprenticeship programmes. Click here for further info, or get in touch via the contact form at the bottom of this page, if you would like to find out more.
