Cordie Wins Another Government Contract

Effective engagement with stakeholders is an essential skill for all procurement and commercial staff, and it is one of Cordie’s core training offerings. We are delighted to announce that Cordie has recently been awarded a contract to deliver an intense programme of stakeholder engagement and influencing courses to several cohorts of commercial staff in UK SBS and BEIS.

This programme was tendered through open competition in 2022 and is to be delivered in Newport and Swindon. It comprises five engaging interactive sessions where engagement, communication and influencing skills are explored and practised in a procurement context. Several cohorts will be trained using interactive and experiential learning techniques.

Procurement and commercial staff always need to work on their stakeholder engagement skills; they are a key feature of the job. These so-called ‘soft skills’ are easily overlooked while concentrating on being the buyer and the procurement lead. In particular they are essential for gathering business requirements and exploring the real needs of an organisation, as well as engaging with with wider stakeholders in the market and then leading stakeholders through an incisive and objective tender evaluation.
