Hot off the press! We are pleased to announce the launch of our new “Introduction to Warehousing” eLearning, which is available within Cordie’s learning management system (the Virtual Purchasing Academy).
This module introduces the concepts and principles of warehousing and inventory management. It was designed and developed in-house by one of Cordie’s developers and provides an excellent introduction, particularly for students of the CIPS Diploma in Procurement & Supply.
“We noticed that many procurement people in the early stages of their career may never have stepped inside a modern storage facility,” stated Ian Thompson, one of Cordie’s Directors and a senior member of the Cordie teaching team. “Modern procurement is often desk-based or working from home using automated systems and technological solutions. While there are so many advantages of these approaches, nothing beats the actual experience of seeing and working inside various different operational environments and without this experience some learners could be at a disadvantage in their CIPS professional exams. So this eLearning module provides a really important insight to the working operations of different types of storage facilities - particularly for anyone who lacks this important experience. It will help our student learners with their exams!”
The interactive module takes approximately 25 minutes to complete and provides essential pre-course learning for anyone studying towards their CIPS L4M7 Whole-life Asset Management exam. As a CIPS Centre of Excellence, Cordie has added this free resource to our learning platform and it is freely available to all our students of this module.
