HOT OFF THE PRESS… We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first cohort for the Level 3 Procurement & Supply Assistant apprenticeship. Yesterday we held an induction event for newly enrolled learners and their line managers where our CIPS tutors provided an overview of the programme requirements and how the necessary portfolio of procurement capabilities will be developed over this engaging 18-month programme.
The Level 3 Procurement & Supply Assistant apprenticeship is all about giving a strong foundation of practical procurement skills. It is suitable for those who are either early in their procurement career, or those who perhaps wish to backfill their existing experience with an excellent understanding of the core knowledge, skills and behaviours in procurement.
Learners work with our tutors and their employers over 12 months to build up a portfolio of evidence of practical procurement capabilities. These are carefully mapped against the required knowledge, skills and behaviours of the IfATA apprenticeship standard. During this time, learners are also required to study for the CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement & Supply so that after the first 12 months they have been immersed in an ambitious but engaging programme of study whilst in full-time employment.
Once the Level 3 CIPS Advanced Certificate has been achieved and the portfolio completed, learners then proceed with their end-point assessment “work-based project”. This is a fantastic opportunity for learners to put into practice their newly developed knowledge and skills on a practical project in their work environment.
It takes 12-18 months to complete the programme, at which point learners walk-away with two highly credible procurement qualifications. This paves the way for further career development and, for those looking to continue on their learning journey, to further learning opportunities on the Level 4 Commercial Apprenticeship.
