FACT: Cordie has one of the highest quality ratings for any procurement apprenticeship provider in the UK!

We are delighted to announce the publication of our latest Ofsted inspection report, which has judged Cordie’s learning programmes to be ‘GOOD’ in every area of provision. This means that, after three full days of rigorous inspection, UK Government inspectors have benchmarked the processes and achievements from Cordie’s procurement apprenticeships against the highest standards in education and found them to be of a consistently high standard in every area.

The Ofsted process has a reputation for being one of the most demanding inspection regimes in any area of service delivery. It involves combing through mountains of documentation and governance arrangements, as well as interviewing key staff, learners, employers and a wide range of associated stakeholders in order to produce an evidence-based judgement on the quality of education.

For Cordie, this included reviewing student work assignments, our accreditations, our recruitment processes and our lesson plans. It also included observing live study sessions and talking directly to learners during their lesson and/or after their exams.

There are only four potential outcomes. The judgement of GOOD in every area of Cordie’s provision demonstrates an objective vote of confidence from the UK Government.

To put this in perspective, Cordie now has the highest rating of any procurement apprenticeship provider in the country - none is higher - and this is notably better than some of the obvious well-known names within the procurement profession.

You can access a copy of our report either directly from the Ofsted site, or from our webpage here. Here is just a snippet of what the Ofsted inspectors have said:

Apprentices develop the subject expertise and personal skills they need to be successful at work.
Leaders ensure that the content of the curriculum meets the different employment needs of the public and private sector employers they work with.
Trainers are subject specialists and have a high level of recent industry experience in procurement. Employers value the training apprentices receive and are confident that they develop the procurement knowledge and skills needed at work.
Trainers skilfully use learning activities that encourage apprentices to reflect and share their broader experiences from their varied workplaces.
Apprentices receive helpful guidance from trainers so that they know what they need to do to improve their work and how to achieve a distinction grade in the final assessment.
Leaders ensure that apprentices acquire valuable wider knowledge that helps to promote their personal development and develops their interests and talents.

We would like to thank everybody who was involved in supporting our inspection process, especially those who gave up personal time to talk to the inspectors and share their views on our services.

Naturally the leaders and governors of Cordie are delighted with this first full inspection report, but you’ll be pleased to know that our ambitions do not stop there as we continue to strive to be:

…the Number 1 Procurement Apprenticeship Provider in the UK.
