Good news! After some extensive lobbying by employers and study centres, CIPS has recently announced a “stay of execution” on four of its Regional Exam Centres in the UK.
The following CIPS Regional Exam Centres will remain open for the March, May and July 2025 exam series:
CIPS Croydon
CIPS Liverpool
CIPS Milton Keynes
CIPS Southampton
This news follows on from last year’s announcements that CIPS was rationalising its UK regional exam centre network from 28 to 10 centres nationwide in attempt to reduce costs and drive traffic to its remotely invigilated exams.
Remote invigilation is where you do not need to attend an exam centre in person, but instead you can sit your exam online at your own premises. This requires you to download invasive software onto your computer and mobile phone in order to prevent the use of other applications during the exam and also to allow the exam invigilator to monitor your activity through the camera settings.
Naturally this type of software is not compatible with the information security provisions of many employers’ IT systems and therefore many learners are currently finding this to be an unsuitable exam option.
Cordie welcomes the extensions of closure on these four exam centres listed above, as we have many learners in these geographic areas, particularly Southampton and Liverpool.
