Cordie CIPS students had a surprise treat in store over the last two weeks of exams at the Cordie head office, managing to raise a whopping £880.00 for victims of the Ukraine humanitarian crisis in the process!
Teaming up with local baker Becky’s Bakes, the Cordie office laid on freshly baked muffins for all CIPS exam candidates throughout the CIPS exam fortnight. Ukraine pennants were flying and the Cordie team wore Ukrainian football shirts in support of the fundraiser. We even had a visit from the chief executive of one of our partner organisations Eastleigh College, who gladly wore the famous Shevchenko No. 7 football shirt to celebrate the event.
All charitable donations were matched pound-for-pound by Cordie and the proceeds have gone towards the UK’s Disaster Emergency Committee Ukrainian Humanitarian Appeal (https://www.dec.org.uk/appeal/ukraine-humanitarian-appeal). This is the UK Government’s coordinated response with 15 recognised UK charities for humanitarian aid and disaster response. It is part of the global alliance of other similar organisations working under the Emergency Appeals Alliance. The money raised by Cordie staff, students and visitors will go towards providing food, water, shelter, healthcare and protection for the millions of families affected by the war in Ukraine.
